Benefits & Information Services
Full ranges of
benefit and information services are provided for eligible
veterans, their surviving spouses, and independent children
or parents through veterans' service officers and accredited
veterans organizations.
Services include submission of claims to Veterans Administration
including preparation of forms and documentation of claims
and pertinent data, filing to obtain Home Loan Certificates,
filing to obtain discharge papers (DD-214), and obtaining
medals. In filing claims for benefits, compensation, or
pension from the Veterans Administration, the Montgomery
County Veterans Service Commission Service Officers are
certified by the State of Ohio, GOVA, Department of Veterans
Affairs, and the five veterans organizations represented
on the commission.
Required documentation to make a benefit, compensation
or pension claim includes but is not limited to: DD-214
or equivalent, marriage and/or divorce certificate, children's
birth certificates, and social security numbers.
